Paris Day 4 - Part 1

This morning I had a few places I wanted to return to from the past couple of days.  I also had a request from Mike to return to E. Dehillerin for a couple more items.  Even though the rain seems to be here to stay, we put our rain coats on and off we went.

First stop of the day was back to the 6th District.  We headed out, on the metro, to Saint-Germain-des-Prés, we found the metro to be a lot busier this morning than previous days, but we managed to find mum a seat.

I wanted to return to Henri Le Roux, I had noticed the day before they did a small tea and chocolates sit down experience.  I was armed with some cached google maps on my phone and off we headed from the metro.  Well I will admit I was not as well prepared as I thought and we spent the next 30minutes wondering around streets and alleys.  True to my previous wish of getting lost in these streets, it was a little fun.

I found a hotel in the end and went in to ask for the location.  It turned out we were so close, it was just around the corner, typical!

The shop was just sitting there waiting for us to arrive you might say.  Mum and I chose the chocolates we wanted to try and a green tea flavour and sat in the window of the shop and watched the world go by, while having the most beautiful chocolate.  Paris is such a relaxing city, I could have sat there and watched the people go by all day.

After awhile we decided it was time to move on, now that we had our bearings again, we set off walking the streets, looking in all the windows, and having a great laugh as the sights we came across.

On the way back to the metro, we came across a restaurant Rosemary had mentioned the day before, le Relais de l'Entrecote.

Although it wasn't mums type of cuisine she talked me into go in for lunch.  Oh what an experience.  There is no menu, and the waitress only has one question for you, "how would you like it?".  All they server here is French bistro style of steak and frites.  Once the order was taken the waitress brings you our a salad of letuce with walnuts, and a basket of bread.

After awhile comes the main course.  The waitress puts just half of the steak and frites on your plate, it was cooked to perfection with the most amazing butter sauce.  Then when you have finished this, she comes with the other half of the steak and some fresh french frites.  I will be honest and say I was unable to finish mine, but mum did well and finished all of heres.

There is something about french cuisine that doesn't leave you over full, just happy and content with the experience of eating such an amazing meal.

Next port of call was the metro to head back to Les Halls to walk to E. Dehillerin for Mike's tongs he requested.

Chocolate and tea. What a great way to relax. And loving the idea of a restaurant with no menus.
