Our First Morning in Paris

Today is the 1st of May, and Public holiday here in France, very similar to our Labour Day in NZ, so after a great sleep in and shower, I decided to head out down the street to the local patisserie to find Mum and I a local french breakfast, I cam back with almond croissants, they were still warm, and tasted just amazing.

After a restful morning, Mum and I decided to head out and take a look around our local surroundings.  We are luckily to only be a few blocks away from Guard de Nord.  Here are a few photos of our neighbourhood.

One of the main things to happen on May 1st is for Lilly of The Valley flowers to be given.  Mum and I were lucky to be given some by a restaurant we had lunch in.

On the way back to our apartment we decided to have a light dinner so purchased some cheese, bread, and some sweet treats from our local patisserie.

We have decided to stay in for the afternoon, as there are a lot of protests happening today, and most of the shops and museum are closed.  It's nice to have a restful afternoon catching up on sleep.
