Prague Day Three

Today we didn't do much. Sometimes that what a holiday is all about. We had to catch up on blog writing, and wanted a rest from walking for miles, so we decided to find another mall outside the city where we would just sit in the foodcourt and get some typing done.

Before venturing out, I went for a walk out to a local bakery to get us some breakfast. Outside it was -1 degree so I was wrapped up! It didn't feel that cold though. I walked past the Old Town Square where the Christmas Markets are all closed up but the Christmas Tree is still lit up. Just beautiful.

I saw a McLaren dressed up for Christmas, fancy!

Getting to the mall was difficult due to my misunderstanding of tram maps. While there was an easy way to get there, I chose the hard way, which had us walking between tram stops uphill for about 15 minutes through the red light district of town. Anyhow, we made it!

After a couple of hours we'd done some blogs and my laptop battery was low, so we put laptops away and found some lunch. Schnitzel same as yesterday.

We then found a tram back to the hotel. Once we got off at our stop, Helen went direct to the hotel, while I want wandering to find bottled water and also just generally meander through the shops.

Along the tram route today we had seen Christmas Markets in two separate locations. We knew what tram route(s), but not where to get off. So we took our chances and hopped on the same tram routes, and usually missed our stop the had to then ride back one stop.

The first markets we shared a sausage with bread, ketchup and mustard. The sausage was slightly spicy and very tasty. Helen also bought us mulled wine which contained Jack Daniels Honey Whisky. Warming on this cold winters night. Did we mention the temperate was 0 degrees?

Next we hopped another tram to find the other nearly markets. It was only one stop away. This market was much larger with big crowds. Here we mainly looked at the arts and crafts, and only purchased some sweets. Helen's was caramelised almonds and mine was a marzipan sweet.

We then rode the trams back to the hotel. Tomorrow snow is forecast and we are travelling to Vienna. Not fancying dragging suitcases through snow to the railway station, we booked an Uber.

Our hotel offered free mulled wine so we happily accepted and off to bed.
