From Doune, we headed straight into the highlands. Our little car worked hard climbing the mountains. As it was raining, the surrounding mountains were covered in little waterfalls, carrying water into the many lochs we passed.
The scenery up this way is amazing, just mindblowing. The mountains sweep upwards from the road on both sides towards the heavens. The roads are narrow, and windy, with few places to park up and admire the view. But I did get this shot at a lookout.
We edged towards Fort Williams, with me exclaiming at every new high mountain I saw "I wonder if that's Ben Nevis?". I gave up that game after an hour or so. Actually we never saw Ben Nevis, even at Fort William Ben Nevis was covered in cloud.
We didn't do much at Fort William, except get petrol, then we headed to Nevis Range.
