Its Sunday morning and we are setting off early as the roads out of Polperro are very narrow and I prefer to get going while there isn't much traffic on the road.
We don't have a lot of miles to complete today, and took our time through the B roads, mum loves taking the smaller roads and seeing the small villages, can't say I mind either, some places look like the must have 300 years ago.
Just as well we started early, as the roads were narrower than I expected and not to many places to pull over to let traffic through, and I was lucky to not have any oncoming traffic in the worst of it.
We headed to towards bodinnick where we crossed on a local ferry. I have been enjoying these little crossings. Today the ferry only took 3 cars and a there was room for one cyclist. On the way down the hill it seemed like there was a big boat building yard on the Fowey side
Next we headed to the town of Truro. We decided to visit a new Waitrose there, I have been wanting to stop in a take a look, it's been a while since I have been in a waitrose. This store had a Cornish store attached, full of local fresh products. The whole store reminded me of a small Moore Wilsons, we spent our time going up and down the rows looking at different products. I managed to get some peach nectar juice, never seem to be able to find it in NZ. Grab some afternoon tea and headed off.
Next we headed for the campground, only about 15 miles away, arriving around 1.30 in the afternoon. Our paperwork and info was waiting for us at reception. A quick chat to the owner of the campground about his recent booking to motorhome around New Zealand in December, and we were parked up. Power plugged in and gas on, Mum was up making her afternoon coffee and we were set for afternoon tea.
On a Sunday the shops are only open 6 hours in the UK, so we decided rather than going to a pub for a Sunday roast dinner we would pop down to Tesco's and get some cooked chicken and coleslaw for dinner. Managed to get there before closing, Picked up a couple of other items and back to the campground
Dinner was nice and we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening playing Dominos, and Uno along with watching some more Bridgerton.
