Vegas to LA and beyond
On the 11th of Jan we started the morning really early, we had a real long day ahead of us, we left the hotel in Vegas at 7am in the morning, after a checking out of the hotel and packing the car we were on our way. The drive is 4.5 hours from the strip to LAX, and we had a flight leaving at 4pm so we had no time to waste, half way along the trip we stopped to have breakfast, poor Jill had one more taste of the chain restaurant (she wasn't very happy about that I tell you) it was Del Taco, not a bad breakfast on the run I have to say, within 15 mins we were back on the road. By mid-day we were in the tick of LA traffic. I dropped the team off at LAX with there baggage while I popped down the road to get my last min itunes vouchers and returned the car. I was back at the airport at 1pm checking in with Mike as they were not allowed to check in before then anyway. Then I had the waiting game, being on standby I had to wait till 3pm to get a boarding pass, for a while there I didn't think I was going to make it but in the end all was fine and I was sitting in the departure lounge with the other by 3.15. The flight to Heathrow was surprisingly fast, we all enjoyed the trip, being just over 10 hours it was the shortage of all out legs. Arriving at Heathrow was good, I was able to use the UK entrance line unlike the other who had to queue, but I was able to get out trolleys and start for the baggage, only problem was I saw my bags go past twice before I was able to get near the baggage, the queues were huge and people everywhere, in the end Mike ended up getting my baggage on his way to meeting me after clearing customs. After getting all our baggage we said goodbye to Jill and were got the fast train to Paddington station, then a Taxi to the house we were staying in. We were had it by the time we got to our room. So we didn't fall asleep straight away I suggested we went for a walk along Oxford Street, being only a few mins walk from there it was not far, the crowds however were too much for us after an hour or so, being sale time and all we could hardly move, so we talked as far as Regent street and back to Marble Arch then back to our room. Within mins of being back in our room, we all ended up falling asleep!!!!
