London Day 3 - First day at the Knitting and Stitching show

I have 3 classes today and the first starts at 10.30. It cheaper on the tub after 9.30 so I stand at the gate watching the clock. Right on 9.30 I along with 50+ people head for the turnstile. It's only 5 stops on the Piccadilly line to Wood Green where I get a bus up to the Ally Pally, I'm at the show by 10.10. Not bad really, for London.

My first class is button making. A very traditional skill. It was very popular in Dorset, women made these buttons from around 1620's through to 1850's. Women could earn more making button than their husbands in the field. This is what they are meant to look like.

It was a great class and I managed to almost finish mine, doesn't look as good at the tutor's samples but I will get there with practice.

The next class was to make a scissors fob, now this class was fun and I really liked the finished product.

Then onto looking at the stalls. The main hall is huge there has to be 200 stalls here. I only manage half the main hall before my next class.

A christmas decoration using a hexagon patten, for this I actually have to do some hand sewing, my mother will be proud!!!

I don't have a show tonight so I think I will grab a bite to eat and spend the evening in my room.
