The Trip is Over
Although the trip didn't end as planned we all had the best time. The highlights for me were Warner Bros, Monument Valley, Paris, the Eurostar, dinner at Jules Verne Restaurant, and Château de Versailles. Mike and Peter were both really taken with Paris, and just loved being there, I can see that Peter might be heading back some time soon to France :o). As for me and Mike well watch this space, I am always planning the next trip....and the one after that....
Hong Kong
So as you can imagine Hong Kong was not quite what we planned. Mike ended up in Hospital for 2 nights (we only had 3 night sin Hong Kong). He was cleared for flying again, although they didn't find anything wrong with him after all sorts of test etc. I got a really bad cold and spent all the time I wasn't at the Hospital with Mike in bed at our Hotel. On the last night we were in Hong Kong Mike was let out of Hospital and we had one evening were we could catch up with an old school friend of Mike's for the evening. William has spent the last 5 years in Asia and moved to Hong Kong 2-3 years ago from Taiwan and is there to stay. So he took us out for dinner and then we went shopping. Yes Mike was out of the hospital for 4 hours and he still managed to get his new 1080p Projector!!!...and they talk about women shopping, I'd like to know I could have purchased way more LV for the price of the projector hehehehehehe. Anyway it was good to see a smile back on his face and him looking a lot better than he had been in Hospital. The next day was getting packed and getting organized to get to the airport. We had a late check out which helped as I was still feeling really bad with the cold I had. By 3 pm we were on the way to the airport, all checked out of the hotel and saying good bye to William. Mike and Peter were all checked in for there flight and ready to go, I however had a standby ticket and the flights were full, so I got to stay in Hong Kong 1 extra night, after trying for both flights to Auckland that day and both of them being really full I got to stay in a really nice Hotel at the Hong Kong airport. Mike and Peter managed to get home on time and with no problems.
Hong Kong here we come.
The flight to Hong Kong is very long but the plane was partly empty so we all had spare seats next to each other which helped. And the flight time just seemed to pass so quickly for me, I got to finish a book, watch a movie or two and then the fun started. Just a few minutes minutes before we landed in Hong Kong we were all seated including the crew ready to land when Mike was not feeling too good, he was having issues with his arms feeling funny, and just as we ended up landing Mike flaked out completely, so for a few minutes it was all rather scary for me. After getting the attention of the crew and getting oxygen on him he came round again. But had no use of his arms, hands of fingers. He lost all feeling, so the paramedics were called onboard and by the time we had Taxied to the gate we only had a few mins before they were on the aircraft and taking a look. In the end Mike and I ended up in a Ambulance for a 35 min ride to Princess Margaret Hospital. Welcome to Hong Kong, can we get you a personal shuttle from the aircraft into the city, it even comes with flashing lights and a bed!!!!...No thanks...I would rather had queue for an hour to get through immigration and taken a bus I think :o)
Our last day in London
Well our last day in London was a very relaxing one, started the morning late. Packed our bags and the hotel stored them for us for the day while we went looking around. Unfortunately it rained for some of the day, not to heavy but enough that on occasions we had to seek shelter for a few minutes in Kensington Park. We had a quick visit to the grounds of Kensington Palace as I had been hanging out for do High Tea, both Mike and Peter hadn't done High Tea before, unfortunately High Tea is an afternoon thing and we were a little early at the The Orangery, but the waiter helped us out and we got our afternoon tea anyway. By 4pm we were back at the Hotel picking up out bags and heading off to Heathrow on the Tube. Our flight was at 7pm. Bye Bye London.
